He's going nowhere: Pep signs new deal at Man City

Manchester city have announced that their head coach Pep Guardiola has signed a new contract which keeps him at the Etihad for two more years. Pep tookover as the manager in July 2016. During his time at City, he has led the club to win 18 major trophies including 6 premier league titles and one champions league trophy.

The most recent achievement was in the 2022/23 season where they won the treble. This contract extension has cancelled all the rumours on his exit. He had been linked with the Saudi pro league for sometime as his contract was to expire at the end of the season.

After his takeover, this side has been dominant in the premier league having won the title six times in eight seasons. Despite the contract extension, City's start this season hasn't been quite what they were planning. Having lost 4 consecutive games in all competition for the first time in Pep's managerial career,, it's their worst run in games.

In an interview, Pep said that he has a special feeling for the club, which makes him want to stay for two more seasons or even more. Will this side keep dominating the league with him?

The premier league returns after the international break, where thay look to bounce back in form.
