Police in Karinde, Kiambu County, are investigating an apparent case of suspected suicide involving a couple.
According to a report filed on Sunday, the decomposing bodies of a man and a woman were discovered in their home. The man was found hanging from an electricity cable, while the woman’s body lay on the floor.
A one-and-a-half-year-old infant was found alive beside the deceased mother. The child was rushed to Mutuini Hospital for medical attention.
Officers recovered an identity card from the man’s pocket, identifying him as Reuben Ndede. However, the woman’s identity remains unknown at this time.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man may have killed the woman before taking his own life.
The bodies have been transported to Nairobi City Morgue for post-mortem examinations as investigations continue.
