The pandemic showed that it can be effective to work from home, but companies now face a big challenge in retaining engagement. While employees care about the flexibility, the companies are concerned about teamwork and company culture. It is all about the right balance.
To accommodate the need for both, hybrid models have thus cropped up which include sometimes face to face meetings. Corporations such as Slack and Zoom are now revolutionizing business communication, but the use of such technology products cannot completely consumed face to face communications. These true-life relations are formed spontaneously in brief and unprogrammed instances that do not lend themselves easily to online interaction.
Managers are advised to start reconsidering engagement approaches. Promoting conversations, assembling group exercises online, and investing in more effective software can reduce the generality of remote work while maintaining efficiency.
