The premier league returns this weekend after an international break. At the top of the table sit Liverpool with 28 points after winning 9 games, with only one draw and lose. They remain the top contenders for the title as they have a breathing space of five points. This means that Manchester city who are second,, have 23 point, which can be considered a large margin.
However, from fourth to sixth are Chelsea, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Brighton respectively all with 19 points. This indicates that Manchester city are not safe in the second position with four teams at their back.
Chelsea, who have had a decent run in games since the start of the season are also eyeing the prize. Having won 5 games, drawing 4 and losing two makes them a serious side. Considering that the loses only came against Liverpool and Manchester city who are the current leaders,, this side has to be watched.
At fourth place is Arsenal, with the same number of wins, draws, and loses as those of Chelsea. They remain top contenders for the title as they have proved that in the last two seasons where they finished second after Manchester city.
One side which cannot be underestimated is Manchester united, after the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the new head coach, this side has high chances of bouncing back at this early stage. The struggle for goals has now been settled as they proved that in their last games, defeating Leicester city in both the league and the league cup.
Looking at the upcoming games of these sides, it is evident that this seasons title race will be a show.
