Young Man Who's Been Endlessly Criticizing Ruto Online Finally Charged In Court Days After Arrest

David Mokaya, famously known as Landlord to many Kenyans On X (KOX), has today been presented at the Milimani Law Courts days after he was reportedly arrested by men believed to be police officers in Eldoret.

 

The young man, who has been endlessly criticizing President William Samoei Ruto and his government on his X platform, was infact charged with false publication contrary to section 22(1) of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act no. 5 of 2018.

 

This is with regards to a post that he made on his X account, on November 13, 2024, where he shared a photo of a military funeral procession and the casket was covered by a flag.

 

 

David Mokaya then accompanied it with a caption saying that it was President William Ruto's body that was leaving the Lee Funeral Home as shown above.

 

After he was presented at the court however, he pleaded not guilty before Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhumbi, and he was to be released on a bond of kshs 100,000 or a bail of Kshs 50,000.

 

The case is set to be mentioned on December 4, 2024.

 

 

According to reports by various users of X, David Mokaya was arrested by police officers three days ago in Eldoret.

 

The young man who refers to himself as a certified Ruto hater on his X bio, was then transferred to Nairobi and he was held at the Muthaiga Police Station. Allegedly no one was allowed to see him.

 

 

If you are a frequent user of the X platform, then you surely must have spotted how the hashtag #FreeLandlord was trending over the weekend.

 

Many Kenyans On X were actually using the hashtag #FreeLandlord to try and convince the people to arrested David Mokaya to release him.
